AROUND THE LEAGUE
THE MOST RECENT NEW IS AT THE TOP
OAKLAND RAIDER
Possible Raiders move to Los Angeles is gathering steam
OXNARD, Calif. -- Perhaps it was all mere coincidence. It was just quirky timing that, with his franchise again a free agent after the season, and his efforts to get a stadium in Los Angeles taking on a more fevered pitch, and with him openly flirting with San Antonio to up the relocation ante, now, of all times, @lonestarboss's Oakland Raiders happened to travel to Southern California for two days of practices with the Cowboys.

NEW YORK JETS
NYJ name their Starting QB?
New York Jets owner ghernandez14 announced Saturday that Geno Smith would be the team's Week 1 starter, making official what had long been obvious. Smith was solid in the opening season OTAs. Michael Vick also played well in limited action with the second teams offense, but he never truly had a chance in the competition. To add insult to injury, New York seems to be working out some deals with numerous teams in getting something out of nothing for Michael Vick in a trade. Find out where Vick might be traded here.

AFC Power Poll: Broncos, Patriots alone at the top
It's been AFC Week on Around The League. Ive previewed the conference on the podcast, predicting every playoff team. I also broke down each division, team-by-team, on the website.
As part of the previews, I have submitted season predictions in the form of a power ranking of the league based on your Madden 25 Rankings and team's roster you have selected on Madden 15.. While there will be plenty of disagreements among the group, the list below represents the average of all of my predictions. Essentially, these are our consensus picks. We ranked them by conference, with league rank in parentheses.
A CLASS ALL THEIR OWN
1. Denver Broncos (4) @saintsrus29
2. New England Patriots (5) @dmacsoreal
PLAYOFF TEAMS
3. Pittsburgh Steelers (6) @ryan4040
4. San Diego Chargers (9) @el_MaTaDoR5655
5. Baltimore Ravens (11) @eddieflow
6. Indianapolis Colts (13) @themarverlous1
Note that the teams are ranked in order of our overall power poll, rather than what their theoretical playoff seed would be. Even though the Colts could be no lower than the No. 4 in AFC seeding, their significant shortcomings outside of Andrew Luck show up here. No other team in the AFC South ranks in the top 25.
I project a return to normalcy in the AFC North. The Steelers are back as division champions, while I have the Ravens back in the playoffs as a wild card team. The offense can only get better. I also project the Chargers' 2013 resurgence to stick. Philip Rivers should love the team's new up-tempo offense.
STUCK IN THE MIDDLE
7. Cincinnati Bengals (14) @flashherose
8. Kansas City Chiefs (19) @johhny_caineee
9. Cleveland Browns (20) cortezleo5
There are an average of five to six new playoff teams every year. After three one-and-done appearances, I have the Bengals on the outside looking in. The Chiefs got a lot of schedule luck last year that should change this year, and their offensive line could be a mess. The Browns have a playoff-ready defense, but it's hard to see their passing game succeeding.
END OF THE LINE
10. Miami Dolphins (24) @unkownuser
11. New York Jets (26) ghernandez14
12. Jacksonville Jaguars (28) zajix
13. Buffalo Bills (29) @pkmperales93
14. Houston Texans (30) (AFC) Commissioner (TJBLAYZE)
15. Tennessee Titans (31) @xesrx1994xtx
16. Oakland Raiders (32) @lonestarboss
The bottom five teams in my power poll reside in the AFC Six of the seven teams listed above are in the AFC South and AFC East, the two worst divisions in football. Miami's outfit feels directionless. They lack difference-making units on both sides of the ball, although their pass rush is intriguing. It wouldn't surprise me if the Jaguars out-play this ranking, especially with that AFC South schedule. The Titans could make the same argument. I still haven't given up on Jake Locker as a quality starter.
